Not all sheroes wear capes!

Updated: Apr 23, 2021

International Women’s Day is more than another sales opportunity. As brands jump on the bandwagon, take a peek at how you can make small improvements to create an inclusive world with us.

Happy International Women’s Day. It is one of our favourite days of the year! Where we get to celebrate all the sheroes around us.

Kitty’s boasts a diverse and majority women driven team, where we constantly ask ourselves what we are doing to support women and challenge the status quo on inequality. We remind each other that while great progress has been made, there is still so much more to do.

You may ask why our debut blog is about International Women’s Day... Here's why, 70-80% of consumer purchasing decisions are made by women and yet 50% of marketing is targeted at men. This highlights the glaringly obvious disparity in outdated gender driven advertising. This needs to change. Where 85% of women say that if they like a brand they will remain loyal to it, can you afford not to position your marketing towards women?

Targeting the right demographic, in the right tone with the right message can engage your audience and achieve the Facebook growth that you're after.

Women account for 80% of all car purchases by influence too, according to Bloomberg BusinessWeek. In a world where half of all products marketed to men are actually purchased by women, why are advertising campaigns continually created this way?

Today is a day that we can globally celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. What can we do in digital marketing to instigate a positive change that will address not only gender injustice, but alleviate a massively misunderstood audience.

We can change our perspective.

Who better to market to women, than women. Who knows what women want more than women themselves? More than half of Forbes’ 50 Most Influential CMOs of 2018 were women.

We practice what we preach here at Kitty’s and strive to put the audience first in all of our creative work. Our campaign performance typically yields above industry average and we seek to take subjectivity out of our work. Always iterating to get the right message, at the right time, to the right person.

What can you do to help us? Work with us to make a change. We are the Facebook performance accelerators you need to scale and make a difference.

This year, we have pledged that a percentage of all our March profits will be donated to Native Women's Resource Centre in a bid to support the community.

Get involved, instigate change and get in touch with us here.
